1. Introduction

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Auto Repair Centre (Loughton) Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.

By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

2. Definitions

• "Customer" means any person or business who requests or receives services from us.
• "Services" means MOT testing, vehicle servicing, repairs, diagnostics, tyre fitting, and any other automotive services we provide.
• "Vehicle" means any car, van, or other motor vehicle brought to us for services.
• "Quote" means our written or verbal estimate for work to be carried out.

3. Services and Quotations

3.1 Quotations

All quotations are estimates based on our initial inspection. Additional work may be identified during the service or repair process. We will always seek your approval before carrying out any work that differs from the original quote.

3.2 Authorisation

By leaving your vehicle with us, you authorise us to carry out the agreed work. For any additional work discovered, we will contact you for approval before proceeding.

3.3 MOT Testing

MOT tests are conducted in accordance with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) guidelines. We are an authorised MOT testing station. The test result is recorded electronically and is final.

3.4 Replacement Parts

Unless otherwise agreed, we may use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or quality aftermarket parts. Used parts will only be fitted with your prior agreement.

4. Prices and Payment

4.1 Pricing

All prices quoted are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated.

4.2 Payment Terms

Payment is due upon collection of your vehicle unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing. We accept:

• Cash
• Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
• Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
• Bank transfer (by prior arrangement)

4.3 Non-Payment

We reserve the right to retain your vehicle until payment is received in full. Storage charges may apply for vehicles left beyond 7 days after notification that work is complete.

5. Warranty

5.1 Parts Warranty

Parts fitted by us carry the manufacturer's warranty, typically 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, unless otherwise stated.

5.2 Labour Warranty

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles from the date of service, whichever comes first.

5.3 Warranty Exclusions

Warranty does not cover:

• Wear and tear items (brake pads, tyres, etc.) beyond normal service life
• Damage caused by misuse, accident, or neglect
• Modifications or repairs by third parties
• Commercial or competition use unless specified

6. Collection of Vehicles

Vehicles must be collected within 7 days of notification that work is complete. Vehicles left longer than 14 days without contact may be subject to storage charges of £15 per day. We reserve the right to dispose of vehicles abandoned for more than 3 months.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 General

Our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for:

• Consequential or indirect losses
• Loss of use, profits, or business
• Pre-existing vehicle defects
• Items left in vehicles

7.2 Exclusions

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information about your vehicle and any known issues
• Ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy and legal when brought to us
• Removing personal belongings and valuables before leaving your vehicle
• Maintaining adequate insurance cover for your vehicle

9. Cancellation

You may cancel a booking at any time before work commences without charge. If work has started, you will be liable for the cost of work completed and parts ordered.

11. Data Protection

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
